Paint Prep

G. Jezarian Fine Jewelry will soon have its distinguished livery on the Swift DB-4 as she’s disassembled and prepared for paint work. The combination of materials which need prep-work include fiberglass coachworks, a carbon fiber monocoque and both aluminum and composite wings.

Each piece will be stripped of excess paint to save weight and subsequently reinforced in the areas requiring attention. The rear engine cowl in particular requires stiffening and contouring while both front noses and wing assemblies (high and low downforce) will be fitted properly to the nose box before they’re brought into the spray-booth and painted.

The G. Jezarian Racing’s Swift DB-4 will start the 2007 season with fresh Toyota power. BRM Motorsports in Long Island assisted in the engine removal and crating and shipping the power plant.

Upon it’s arrival to the engine builder, the entire unit will be disassembled and rebuilt to SCCA Pro Specifications. After reassembly, the motor will be fully broken-in and horsepower and torque will be recorded on a dyno.

The entire engine rebuild should be completed in 4 to 8 weeks.
