Gregory Jezarian and the G. JEZARIAN FINE JEWELRY Swift DB-4 Formula Atlantic won the annual SCCA “School’s Out” auto race at Lime Rock Park. Jezarian, who started from the pole, led the field to a clean start for the 15 lap feature and finished the race unchallenged.

The race marked the first official race weekend for the 2007 season for the entire G.Jezarian team.

Crew members Monika Mandok, Monty Mathisen, and Jeremy Pasternak nailed the setup building upon data gathered at a testing day. Mathisen, also a crew member on a Speed IMSA World Challenge team, is quite familiar with the 1.53 mile circuit. “The weather was hot and the sun did brutal things to the track temps, setting the car up to compensate for the greasiness was tough. The feedback we got from the data acquisition was useless so we went with our gut. Thankfully we got it right. I did get a bit worried during the race when a marshall told us the car had pegged the sound meter at 104db. I was warned if Greg broke the limit once more they’d black flag him. I got on the radio and had him short shifting for the remainder of the race. We lost a little performance and our laptimes suffered a bit but there were no immediate threats so it worked out perfectly. We’ve got some ideas to quiet that engine down for future events with sound restrictions.”

Jezarian is gearing up for the next event in the coming weeks. “I was pleased with the car and we’re all looking forward to the next race. I’m still getting acclimated to the new chassis but today was a step in the right direction. The team seems to have a good grasp on the chassis and now it’s up to me to perform. I’ve been training with a 125cc shifter kart on the off weeks to keep in form.” Be sure to visit G.
