Gregory Jezarian Joins Greisiger Motorsports for 2009
New York, NY – Greisiger Motorsports has signed driver Gregory Jezarian to pilot the Triad Magnetics Van Diemen for the 2009 Formula 2000 Championship Series season. Jezarian recently auditioned for the team at the 2008 NAARC Runoffs at Lime Rock finishing second and impressing GMI management. GMI issued the following statement: “GMI is very pleased to have the services of Greg Jezarian for the 2009 SCCA and Pro F-2000 Championship programs. He has demonstrated a commitment to the sport and great success on the race track.”
Sponsors Triad Magnetics, G.Jezarian Fine Jewelry, JSS Peformance, EchoValleyDesign.com, and MathisenMedia will all be part of the 2009 campaign with more partners to be announced shortly.
Jezarian is no stranger to the open-wheel world, having run the last two seasons in a Formula Atlantic in various venues. Greg has two wins under his belt with his Atlantic team and is eager to taste success in 2009 in F-2000, “I’m super thankful to have the support of Greisiger Motorsports for next season. The last two seasons we struggled so hard with our budget compared with other efforts it often felt like I was bringing a knife to a gunfight. Now we’ve got the support and backing to run two cars next season and I couldn’t be happier. We’re excited to get to work.”
GMI will reorganize for 2009 to campaign an FC and FA entry in SCCA Nationals toward an invitation for the National Championship Runoffs to be held at Road America next fall. Greg Jezarian will drive the FA while Bill Hoops will pilot the FC entry. Kurt Greisiger explains; “GMI is prepared to contest the SCCA 2009 National Championship Runoffs with complimentary teams for driving and staff support and having experience in this venue previously.” Additional announcements with regard to the new organization will be forthcoming.
The team will begin a testing program for the off-season shortly. A link to the EFCN article can be found here.
